Healthcare has moved to the top concern for many Americans, according to a recent Gallup poll. Over the last few months, anxieties about healthcare have slowly grown. Today it surpasses the economy, inflation, and immigration.

By The Numbers:
Sixty-one percent of Americans said they worry a great deal about “the availability and affordability of healthcare;” 23% said they worry a fair deal; and 10% said they’re only worried a little.
About half of Americans worry about economic issues a great deal: the economy (51%); inflation (50%); and federal spending and the budget deficit (50%).
Illegal immigration has fallen on the list. Only 33% of Americans worry a great deal about illegal immigration; 27% worry about illegal immigration a fair deal; 19% worry about illegal immigration only a little; and 21% do not worry at all about it.
The Bottom Line: Healthcare was a top concern for Americans from 2015-2020, before inflation took the top spot during the Biden Administration. Affordability and availability were always a healthcare concern. However, as the poll shows, anxieties over personal challenges over being able to afford care are now as high as cost-of-living concerns. This is something Republicans must keep an eye on as we get closer to the November Midterms.
